Cut me Mick!
What a classic line! In spite of how fake it appeared on film, Rocky had to deal with the momentary pain of getting cut in order for him to continue in the fight.
I am not a fan of pain but realize that in many arenas of life you have to experience pain in order to continue, grow or be effective. I do not enjoy getting up early and going to the gym. However, I must endure the pain of the treadmill or those last few reps in order to live healthy and be around for my family.
Just think of your recent cavity, ingrown toenail or splinter that caused you to have to endure temporary pain if you wanted to rectify the problem before it wrecked your world.
I realized the date is a little off, buy the March 1st entry in “My Utmost For His Highest” states, ” The Word of God inflicts hurt on us more that sin ever could, because sin dulls our senses. For the Word of God is living and powerful…, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit…” – to the point no deception can remain. (Hebrews 4:12)
What is blocking your vision? Do you not feel as spiritually sharp as you once were? Does it seem that you don’t feel anything unless it cuts right down to the bone? Maybe you need cut. Invite God today.
